Description of work:
Conversion of a central management administration suite into a new 41-bed Adult Rehabilitation and Integrated Stroke Unit (ARISU)
Located on Level 5 of the main hospital building, near the main entry
Demolition of existing administration areas
Construction of the new 41-bed inpatient ward (22 single, double and quad rooms), plus 23 en suite and toilet facilities.
Increasing the slab height by 50mm, to create the falls for the plumbing & drainage.
Construction of a large, open-plan rehabilitation gym within the unit.
Modification to radiology space, including creation of new intertenancy partition, installation of new medical service panels and make good of the radiology area – with radiology remaining operational at all times.
Included medical gases, tier-one wifi, nurse call system and bariatric ceiling hoist system in some bedrooms.
The first integrated stroke unit in Auckland, offering world-class facilities for care ranging from hyperacute and acute patients, through to rehabilitation in one space.
IL4 rated, i.e. having the ability to operate immediately after an earthquake or disastrous event.
